The beach, bike riding, and the outdoors are just part of our lifestyle in Jacksonville. So, how do we keep our luscious, elastic skin safe? Here are the three tips we are focusing on this summer.
1. Seriously, use the SPF. Kaitlynn Reagan from the beaches says, "I didn't realize how much SPF 8 could really do." She explains, "I put the SPF 8 on my entire body--but I forgot my neck and some of my back, the rest of my body was fine, but those spots got a sun-burn!"
If you think you wont get enough Vitamin D (even though you will with SPF 30), you need to apply some sort of sun block. If a low SPF makes you feel better, use it! Anything is better than bare skin!
2. Accessorize! Floppy hats and over sized sun-glasses are in. We don't know when they will be "out" so lets use them while we can! Protecting the delicate skin around your eyes with UVA/UVB blocking glasses can keep your from wrinkling. Not only will it protect you from the sun, but squinting also caused fine lines to appear. Scarfs and long sleeves are also great for when your going outdoors!
3. Stay hydrated by drinking more water and eating fruits through the day. It's recommended to drink AT LEAST 8 glasses of water a day. A venti sized cup at Starbucks is 26 of those ounces! It's free and triple filtered, add a glass with your coffee and keep refilling your cup throughout the day! (Or stay fabulous with a summery tumbler!)
