8 Ways to Keep Your New Years Resolution

2014 is coming to an end and it's time to start thinking about New Year's resolutions. Many people set goals and have trouble staying on track. This year, don't lose sight of your goals! Follow these simple tips to staying on top of things:

1. Be Realistic- Strive to make goals that are actually attainable. Don't decide to workout every single day for 2 hours when you know you have a hectic schedule.

2. Plan Ahead- Start working toward your goals before the new year arrives. This way, it's easier to stay on track.

3. Outline Your Plan- Make a list of how you're going to achieve your goal. If you want to quit smoking, list the different steps you plan to take. If you want to lose weight, list ways you plan to stop yourself from temptation.

4. Talk About It- Don't keep your goals a secret. Tell close friends and family so they can help keep you accountable and on track.

5. Reward Yourself- Rather than rewarding yourself for a good week of working out with a box of chocolates, treat yourself to a new gym bottle or workout shirt.

6. Track Your Progress- Short term goals are much easier to track and will help you feeling more accomplished than one large goal.

7. Don't Beat Yourself Up- One bad meal or one missed workout won't ruin your goals. Just do the best you can each day and take it one step at a time.

8. Keep Trying- It takes 21 days to make something a habit and 6 months for it to become part of your personality.
